María Cabello Toscano

María Cabello Toscano is a postdoctoral researcher at IDIBAPS and an associate professor at the University of Barcelona. She works within the Barcelona Brain Stimulation Laboratory (BBSLab), in the Medical Psychology Unit of the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Her research focuses on the analysis of multimodal MRI neuroimaging, exploring the dynamic relationship between brain structure and function. With a multidisciplinary background in Health Engineering, Cognitive Neuroscience, and a PhD in Biomedicine, she investigates the neural mechanisms underlying cognition, brain health, and psychological factors influencing resilience. She has authored publications on how brain structure and function relate to aging and psychological processes.

In addition, she collaborates on interdisciplinary studies applying non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, aiming to develop innovative treatments for depression and prehabilitation strategies in oncology.
