Anna Dewenter
Anna Dewenter is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Stroke and Dementia Research (ISD), University Hospital, LMU Munich, Germany. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science from the University of Osnabrück, including a study semester at the University of York (UK), and completed a Research Master’s in Cognitive Neuroscience at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behavior in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. She earned her PhD in Systemic Neurosciences at LMU Munich, where she investigated structural connectivity alterations in cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Recently, she undertook a research visit at Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston, USA) to advance her training in neuroimaging approaches to cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA). Her research focuses on developing sensitive, disease-specific biomarkers for SVD and AD, and on elucidating mechanisms linking cerebrovascular and neurodegenerative diseases.
